Bathroom S (2017)
Ecological renovation using Aleppo pine, European beech, and lime plaster.

A terraced house from 1934 in Weimar, Germany, was in need of a bathroom makeover. It was clear from the beginning that only sustainable, ecological materials should be used to create a healthy environment for daily personal care. To save costs, we kept almost all existing fittings, but increased headroom by removing the old cement flooring. A rimless toilet and space saving shower design make the most of the narrow entrance, while allowing an abundance of natural light to reach the hallway. Aleppo pine floor and lime plaster regulate moisture and prevent fogged glass surfaces. Shelf, mirror and cabinet are sturdy hand-crafted furniture made from European beech.
