Pop-Up Store Hamburg (2015)
A modular shelf system for local designers in Hamburg’s Rathauspassage.
Initial inspiration came from the round support column, which can be seen in every direction in the Rathauspassage. If you choose individual “slices” of these columns as shelve boards and put them on tube or pole, a simple round shelf is created.
The shelves are equipped with swivel bases and present the products optimally, no matter from which direction the customer approaches. If something is not immediately reachable, the shelf can simply be rotated. All shelves are made of cherry wood and fixed with pins on the stainless steel tube.
We have display four shelves with different levels of flooring. But more shelves, depending on the space and scope of the product presentation, can be added. The larger shelf in the middle is the most important with almost twice the diameter. This one is designed for bigger products and offers only two floors, including one at eye level for children and one forAdults at 1,20 m height. In the base we included a large compartment as a storage space for packaging, etc. For the transport of the whole system, all floors of the other shelves are simply placed in that compartment. As a result, only one round box with all floors and some steel tubes need to be carried.
